The story of a beautiful project

The Province of Treviso is twinned with the District of Calvados (France) since 2007. The District of Calvados is twinned with the Bezirk Unterfranken (Germany) since 1987. This Group has arranged different European activities in partnership and, in particular, carried out youth exchanges with Bezirk Unterfranken and the Province of Treviso. The city of Lubniany (Poland), by its Cultural Activities Center, takes part to the European youth exchanges thanks to the cultural cooperation with German partner. The first meeting between France, Germany and Poland took place in 2006. Following meetings were held in 2007, 2008, 2009 (with enlargement to Italy) and 2010. The one in 2011 will be the 6th meeting.

Since 2006, 3 of the partners are unchanged to grant a continuity in the exchange activity. Every partner is involved into every single step of the project (dates definition, object of the meeting, general organization, meeting participation and project evaluation). The partners use to communicate via e-mail or by phone in English, French or German up to the time of the preparatory visit.
The young participants are native from the regions or cities involved in the partnership (Province of Treviso,
District of Calvados, Bezirk Unterfranken, and city of Lubniany). Every partner decides the criteria to
select the participants: they turn to young people involved in informal education activities (Poland: municipality cultural service, Germany: network of twinned municipalities) or member of their Secondary School (Italy: schools in the Province of Treviso). Calvados sends information to young people participating to the workshops «Clubs Europe » in their schools (workshops on spare time).
